The HPAA
uses three industry-standard services:

Yahoo Groups – the host for our online networking, job post, and mutual assistance
forums.

HPAlumnipedia – a MediaWiki site that
makes collected knowledge available
to all members.

HP Alumni group on LinkedIn – the
leading online professional networking tool.
Each of these industry-standard services requires a separate
login.
Before you can subscribe to any of these services, you
must be a member of the HP Alumni Association. Read on!

How long does it take to join the HP Alumni Association?
Typically, our volunteer team will approve your HPAA application within 48 hours.

When will the HP Alumni logo appear on my LinkedIn profile?
It can take several days for the separate LinkedIn and Yahoo
systems to get synchronized.

I expect to leave HP soon. Can I join the HPAA? Yes, if you have a
specific termination date. In addition to joining HPAA,
we strongly recommend that you start
using the
HPAlumnipedia as soon as possible. This site is open to
non-members and helps with the
many actions that must be taken
before you lose access to HP systems – email and phone,
retirement accounts, health insurance, stock options, and more.

Can I join the HPAA I'm a former employee of an HP joint venture,
affiliate, distributor, or reseller? Sorry, no.
Those who were a
direct HP employee continuously for at least one year... and are
either no longer a direct HP employee or have a specific
termination date ...are eligible to join the HP
Alumni Association.

I'm trying to get a job with HP in another country. Will
joining the HPAA assist with this? Sorry, no. The HPAA's
discussion forums are focused on the transition out of HP and
subsequent career or retirement. The
job lists do not carry direct HP openings – they are readily
available on the Hewlett-Packard website.

I'm a Recruiter Member of the HPAA. Can I join the HP Alumni
group on LinkedIn? No.
Membership in the HP Alumni group on LinkedIn is limited to full
members of the HPAA.

LinkedIn and Yahoo are two separate industry-standard services
– both with HP Alumni groups.
Your memberships in the
two groups are synchronized through your email address. We
can't add you to the HPAA group on LinkedIn – you must apply through
LinkedIn.
