LinkedIn Invitation for HPAA Members
LinkedIn
is the leading online professional networking tool, used by
more than 20 million professionals worldwide.
There are
currently more than 3,000 HP Alumni Association members in
the HP Alumni group on LinkedIn.
You control your privacy –
including section-by-section public visibility of your profile
and whether or not your profile is findable using Google.
Your email address is private until you choose to provide it
to another LinkedIn member contacting you.
You control whether the HPAA logo
is displayed on your profile to non-HPAA members.
Membership in the HPAA group
on LinkedIn is available to full HPAA
members (not available to Recruiter Members.)
Through the members-only HPAA Group on LinkedIn you can:

Leverage the power of
the HPAA Group network to find and reach the new
business contacts you need

Accelerate your career
through referrals from HPAA Group members

Learn more about fellow HP alumni than is available in
HPAA's Alumni Directory

Let other HPAA Group
members know what you have to offer to them and their

Limit your network
searches to other HPAA Group members only, if
you wish to do so
For those looking for new
positions, LinkedIn has a special connection with
the
Direct Employers Association search engine. (See

Join the HP Alumni Group on LinkedIn
LinkedIn and Yahoo are two separate industry-standard services
– both have HP Alumni groups.
Your memberships in the
two groups are synchronized through your email address. We
can't add you to the HP Alumni group on LinkedIn – you must do it through
the LinkedIn system.
To join the HPAA's "HP Alumni" group on LinkedIn
if you are an HPAA member:

On LinkedIn, go to "Accounts & Settings" in the upper right
corner, then "Email Addresses" to check that the email address you use for your HPAA membership
is shown as either a primary or secondary address on your LinkedIn
account. Be sure that all addresses are marked "Confirmed" by
LinkedIn. (LinkedIn does not make your secondary email address
visible to anyone
– it is used only to synchronize memberships.)

Then, go to our invitation page on LinkedIn
www.linkedin.com/e/gis/16/6A04266B1171 and click "Join
this group."
If you have been a member of the HPAA for a couple of days,
the "HP Alumni" logo will normally appear
immediately on your LinkedIn profile.
Otherwise, it can take a day or two for the separate LinkedIn and Yahoo
systems to get synchronized.
